In an increasingly disconnected world, there is a great need for families to come together. Strengthening family bonds strengthens the community and reconnects the world in which we live, work, and play.
Recognizing the importance and priority of the family, Family First Malaysia (FFM) launched its Family First initiative at an event held at UCSI’s Le Quadri Hotel on May 28, 2016. More than 200 partners were present to witness this occasion, including our wider Family First community from Indonesia, the USA, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines.

The launch of the book “Be a Better Dad Today!” was graced by Datuk Pastor Dr. Daniel Ho, an advisor of Family First Malaysia. This landmark event was also supported by Datuk Chua Jui Meng, another advisor of Family First Malaysia, a former Minister of Health.
The Malaysian chapter of Family First was conceived by her Chairman, Mr. Tan Tek Seng, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Family First Global. Their goal is to build a legacy for strong families, making households an oasis for all family members through strengthening marriages and enhancing parenting skills.
In his launching address, Mr. Tan shared that a family is like a tree whose branches may grow in different directions, yet it is rooted in a solid foundation. Family First Malaysia was founded to be a community-focused non-profit, serving all families, regardless of ethnicity, religious background, or social status.
“It’s a great honor to be the Chairman of Family First Malaysia” offered Mr. Tan. “We have a great leadership team and a wonderful group of partners all over Malaysia. We are honored to be part of the growing Family First movement, and we hope to serve many thousands of Malaysian families in the coming years.”
The Honorable Professor Gregory Slayton, the Founding Chairman of Family First Global, added his thoughts: “Our Family First Malaysia colleagues are off to a great start here in this beautiful Nation. I have no doubt that by God’s grace they will help many thousands of families in the years ahead. It is a great honor to be with them at this wonderful kick-off event – and I salute the entire FFM Team for such an impressive start.”
To accelerate the growth and expansion of Family First Malaysia, Dr. Peter Ting, a long time friend of Mr. Tan for over 2 decades was invited to lead as President/CEO from October 1, 2016. Dr. Peter is joined by his wife, Dr. Abby Ting, as Director of Family First Malaysia. Both are passionate in building a better family, resulting in a better workplace and a better community. They believe that HOME is the most important starting point to raise the next generation of leadership.
